Washer parts: which makers still sell the bearing, and the three direct-drive parts that fail

When a washer's drum bearing wears out, some makers sell you the bearing and some sell you half a tub. The first part of this page lists every part number from our washer bearing episode, with the price we found and where. The second covers the older Whirlpool direct-drive machine behind many Kenmore 110-series and Maytag washers, whose three usual failures each cost less than a service call. Which platform you own, not which badge you bought, decides which parts fit: read the model number first.

When the drum bearing wears out, these makers' parts catalogues offer the tub, not the bearing. For two of them, other companies sell bearing kits. Those kits are not made by the washer's maker, and fitting one means taking the machine apart and pressing the old bearings out of the tub: a job for a repair shop or a very patient owner.
Whirlpool Duet family: rear outer tub W10772617 (genuine Whirlpool)
Front-loaders sold as Whirlpool, Maytag and Kenmore. The genuine part for a worn bearing is the rear outer tub that holds it. Prices we found on 21 September 2026: $326.99 on sale at ApplianceParts4All, $371.95 at Parts Town, $389.68 at The Home Depot's repair parts store, $508.29 at AppliancePartsPros.

Frigidaire and Electrolux: rear outer tub 131525500 (genuine)
Front-loaders sold as Frigidaire, Electrolux and some Kenmore models. The listing says the bearing and shaft seal come with the tub and are not sold separately. $367.99 on 21 September 2026, down from $427.99, at ApplianceParts4All.

LG top-loaders without an agitator: tub assembly drum AJQ74873903 (genuine LG)
For models such as the WT7000CW and WT8200CW. $656.95 on LG's own parts store, the most expensive single part in the episode. We did not find a bearing sold on its own for these two models.

LG front-loaders: rear tub bearing MAP61913707 (genuine LG)
Fits front-loaders such as the WM3400CW and WM3600HWA. $42.95 on LG's parts store, and the same $42.95 at Parts Town. Same brand as the $656.95 drum above: the model number decides which one you own.

Upper bearing housing 27182 at $47.79, clutch assembly 29503 at $42.15, tub cover gasket 27184 at $16.36, against $690.16 for the complete transmission 33227P, all at PartsKing. Keep the one you have: the parts that actually fail
The Whirlpool direct-drive washer — the platform behind a great many Kenmore 110-series machines — fails in three predictable places. All three are parts you can buy for the price of a service call.

Genuine Whirlpool. If the tub spins slowly or squeals on spin-up, this is it.

Built in Ripon, Wisconsin, by Alliance Laundry Systems. Metal transmission, parts available for decades. Sold through appliance dealers, not Amazon.
Keep your Kenmore 110-series
A 110 prefix means Whirlpool built it. If yours is the older direct-drive machine, the three parts above cover almost everything that goes wrong with one — check the model number against a parts catalogue first.
